Le Comité Olympique du Qatar est l’organisme sportif du Qatar qui sert de comité national olympique depuis sa fondation en 1979. Il a été reconnu par le CIO en 1980. Les présidents des différentes disciplines sportives du Qatar ont été aussi désignés.
Une présidence politique pour Joaan Al Thani
Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani vient d’être élu président du Comité Olympique du Qatar pour la période 2017 – 2020. Nous aurions préféré qu’il prenne la présidence du PSG, mais l’émir du Qatar lui a demandé de le remplacer à cette haute fonction.
Le secrétaire général du Comité Olympique du Qatar pour cette même période est Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari. L’objectif essentiel est de faire en sorte que le Qatar participe aux Jeux Olympiques qui auront lieu du 24 juillet au 9 août 2020 à Tokyo, au Japon.
Lors de cette assemblée générale ont été aussi désignés les présidents des différentes disciplines sportives du Qatar.
