President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. spoke today with Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany to congratulate him on his appointment and the formation of a ruling coalition.
President Biden reaffirmed his support for robust U.S.-German relations and desire to further strengthen transatlantic cooperation in the coming years.
The leaders discussed our work together on the full range of global challenges, including continued efforts to end the COVID-19 pandemic, counter the threat of climate change, and address Russia’s escalation of forces surrounding Ukraine.
