La mort même attendue fait toujours souffrir. L’émir Tamim, cet après-midi sera présent aux funérailles du roi Abdallah à Riyad, pour rendre un dernier hommage à un homme pour qui il avait plus que de l’estime. Malgré les différences qui opposaient le Qatar et l’Arabie saoudite et donc le choc frontal entre le roi Abdallah et l’émir Hamad père du prince héritier Tamim, devenu depuis émir du Qatar, celui-ci avait su trouver, la clé pour développer avec le roi Abdallah des relations exceptionnelles. Grande est sa peine aujourd’hui de voir partir cet homme hors du commun qui a dirigé indirectement et directement l’Arabie saoudite pendant 20 ans, un pays aux grandes complexités politiques. Trois jours de deuil ont été décrétés au Qatar en hommage au roi Abdallah.
L’émir a présenté aux nouveaux dirigeants de l’Arabie saoudite ses condoléances.

HH the Emir Mourns Saudi King
Doha, January 23 (QNA) – HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has mourned with deep sadness and sorrow the late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia who died this morning.
In a statement issued by the Emiri Diwan, HH the Emir said King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz was « one of the greatest and best leaders of our Arab and Islamic Nations who devoted his life to the service of his homeland and nation ». He was one of the most sincere advocates of its causes, security and stability, and had a significant role in strengthening Arab solidarity and unity of ranks, and calling for dialogue, just peace in the region and renunciation of violence and extremism.
HH the Emir prayed Allah the Almighty to bestow his grace and forgiveness on him, make paradise his last abode, reward him for the good deeds he made for his country and his nation, and to grant the Royal family, the Saudi people and both the Arab and Islamic nations patience and solace.
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani ordered the declaration of three days of mourning. (QNA)
